To sit the PER or renew a boating qualification you need a specific medical certificate. We issue it here, on the day, for €60.
Which qualifications it covers
The same examination covers both leisure and professional qualifications: PER (the Spanish recreational boat skipper licence), basic navigation skipper, yacht skipper, yacht captain and ship's captain. We also issue it for scuba diving.
What is checked
It is similar to the driving licence examination, with a few points specific to the sea: visual acuity, colour vision —which matters for identifying navigation lights— hearing, balance and coordination, and a general assessment of your health.
For scuba diving we pay particular attention to the ears and to your ability to equalise pressure, which is where most problems appear.
Price and procedure
| Certificate | Price |
|---|---|
| Boating licences: PER, powerboat skipper and ship's captain | €60 |
| Scuba diving | €35 |
| Firearms and dangerous animals | €60 |
Bring your ID and, if you use them, your glasses or contact lenses. We take the photo. You get the certificate there and then, signed and stamped.
If you are handing the certificate to a course or a federation, check first whether they require any extra test: we can do it in the same visit.
We are at 160 Carrer de Bolívia, Monday to Friday.
